Our Afternoon Visit From a “Cash Mob”

Teas and Weaves was surprised and very happy to be selected for the Chamber of Commerce’s very first “Cash Mob” event.    A large number of “shoppers” descended upon Teas and Weaves Thursday, October 24,  to not only support our local business, but to experience some selective discounts on merchandise, and to receive a personal gift bag of specially chosen Tea for the occasion. The cash mob is a new initiative by our local Chamber of Commerce.   The “mob” meets at a neutral place 15 minutes before the event, and are then told where the special “cash mob” will be taking place that day.  Each shopper commits to spending $20 at the venue chosen, while the merchant will often go out of their way to create a worthwhile shopping experience, with something specially created, or set aside just for the “mob”.   This is a win-win for everybody.  Meet new people.  Learn more about local businesses.  And receive special treatment in the form of discounts or other great opportunities.
